Most of the dried apricot production in Turkey is realized in Malatya province. Malatya meets about 80% of the world's dried apricot production. Annual dried apricot production in Turkey varies between 100,000 and 120,000 tons. However, these figures may vary from year to year depending on climatic conditions and yields.

The most important markets for Turkish dried apricot exports are the European Union countries, the USA, Russia, Brazil and Australia.
